Memory Pillow from Men’s Shirt

Hi All,

For most of you that follow our page, you’ll know that my dad passed away in June of this year. When I was back helping to settle some of his affairs, I was able to get a few of his shirts that he used to wear to make into pillows.

It took me a little while to be able to bring myself to make a cut into any of the shirts. So far I’ve still only finished 1, but am hoping to get the rest done by the first of May. I have put a deadline of myself so that I can give them out to the family as I had wanted….and I believe my dad would approve.

With that said, I’d never done one of these and so needed to find some instructions that I felt I could follow in my less than totally with it self. The tutorial I followed can be found here. I love how she explains what to do and I feel it leaves the integrity of the shirt and the purpose in tact as well.

Please see my video showing the finished product below. (I didn’t video actually doing it as I had to stop several times to cry.)

Supplies:

  • Shirt
  • Thread
  • Sewing Machine
  • General sewing notions.

Instructions:

  • Please follow the tutorial here as I did. šŸ™‚

Have a great day, and keep creating!!

I am a mom of 2, wife, and am always looking to create something myself instead of buying it. I met Katy from Little Katy Bugs after becoming a mom, and we both love to craft, both have active families, and a tactful way of telling others what we truly think. I LOVE THAT!!! Art is subjective and so is crafting. So, you may not love everything we make or do, but our goal is to inspire you to create yourself and make things that you will LOVE! We do still sell some of our crafts on the site, at craft fairs, and Katy now participates in a booth store front. Check out our Facebook page for more on the booth. Sometimes we just need inspiration and camaraderie. I hope we can help provide those things to you. Sincerely Donna Beth, a Co-Blogger of www.LittleKatyBugs.com
