Fixing Up a Front Porch Rug

Hi All!!

Welcome back! I’ve had this rug for awhile and it’s welcomed a lot of friends and family across our threshold. In November I decided it needed a refresh.

Here is the video of me refreshing that rug.

  • Rug in need of refresh
  • Acrylic Paint
  • Paint brushes
  • Safe Place to paint

  1. Prepare rug for painting by making sure to thoroughly clean the rug and remove any dirt or other foreign bits of anything (such as leaves or stems).
  2. Prepare work area.
  3. Paint the rug. Allow a full 24 to 48 hours to dry before placing back out in the elements.
  4. Enjoy your newly refinished welcoming to for your guests.

As always we strive to inspire you to create or refurbish here at Little Katy Bugs. I hope this inspires you to make something new again.

I am a mom of 2, wife, and am always looking to create something myself instead of buying it. I met Katy from Little Katy Bugs after becoming a mom, and we both love to craft, both have active families, and a tactful way of telling others what we truly think. I LOVE THAT!!! Art is subjective and so is crafting. So, you may not love everything we make or do, but our goal is to inspire you to create yourself and make things that you will LOVE! We do still sell some of our crafts on the site, at craft fairs, and Katy now participates in a booth store front. Check out our Facebook page for more on the booth. Sometimes we just need inspiration and camaraderie. I hope we can help provide those things to you. Sincerely Donna Beth, a Co-Blogger of
