Hi! Donna Beth here!!!
For those that are looking for activities to do with your younger children during the stay at home orders, during the summer, or anytime you get the dreaded, “I’m bored!” Here is a good activity for Kinder or younger aged children. Thanks to the inspiration from my son’s Pre-school teacher. You can also have YouTube read it to them here:
Activity: “Apple Counting”
Instructions: Have your child practice counting by stacking up 10 objects, example:

You don’t have to write on the blocks…. You could even do it with cards that have numbers on them, or just blocks but have flash cards handy to show the number you’re talking about at any given time. It associates the written number with the quantity. Also could be done with popsicle sticks with number on them. Posting the numbers with tape on the wall in a “tower.”
Craft: Paper Apple
Instructions: Trace and cut an apple outline on a piece of paper, then tear pieces of red and green paper and glue them to the apple shape. An alternative would be to print a piece of paper with an apple on it and have them glue the paper pieces to that, or a paper plate and then add a stem and leaf after. Lots of ways to work with what you have.
